Tips for Bowling: Consistency - and Have a Ball
The social and competitive features of bowling make it a very popular sport. Regardless of the reasons you play the sport, all of us want to improve our scores. This is true whether your play in a competitive bowling league or simply enjoy an occasional weekend outing to the alley with friends.
In hopes of becoming better bowlers and improving our scores, we are always is search of tips for bowling. Looking for the latest secret on how we are going to skyrocket our scores, maybe make it on the Pro Bowlers League or simply have one up on our friends.
The problem with bowling tips are that we tend to try whatever comes our way. We hear of a new ball that someone is using and we run out and buy it, the latest pair of hi-tech bowling shoes litter our closet. One week we are using a 4 step approach and the next week we switch to a 5 step approach because if is the hot bowling tip.
The pattern in all of this is the lack of consistency. If you are looking for tips for bowling, then try applying a little consistency to your game. Bowling is no different than other parts of our lives where consistency is important. We would not consider changing husbands or boyfriends every week, hopefully, and the same is true for our approach to our bowling games.
Find an approach that feels comfortable to you and stick with it. This does not mean that you can never change, that you are stuck with the same delivery or bowling shirt for the rest of your life, no, it simply means that you will become much more consistent and not change with every hot tip you hear.
You can apply consistency to how often you practice, your method of practice, you bowling equipment, and you mental aspects to the game. Start by finding some time to assess your game, write down both your strengths and weaknesses, and make notes about what it is you want to improve.
Next, make a plan for getting there and for determining what steps you need to take to achieve your goals. When you have all of this information put together and written out, the next step is to consistency apply it to your bowling game. You will be amazed at the results this will have for you.
You can reassess your plan every so often. Twice a year seems most reasonable, but maybe more frequently if circumstances warrant, but again, if you find yourself changing every week consider that you might be chasing tips of bowling and reevaluate you approach.
By applying a little consistency toward your game you will see results and improvement to your scores. If you stop chasing the latest tips for bowling but instead apply this same energy in a focused manner to your bowling game will not only increase your scores but increase your enjoyment of the game.
